The award is given to an active ADDA Memberwho has made a significant impact on design drafting/graphics during their career. This award may be given to any Professional, Associate, Institutional or Corporate Member.
ADDA 2014 Professional of the Year
Ms. Fischer is currently a CAD Designer with Lord Corporation located in Erie Pennsylvania. Heather has been a member of ADDA since 2005 and is currently a Professional Member in good standing. She has attended several ADDA Technical Conferences over the last 10 years bringing a fresh insight to the associational meetings.
Heather received an Associate Degree through Triangle Tech Erie in 2000 which was an ADDA Certified Program. She became an ADDA Architectural Certified Drafter in 2005 and became an ADDA Mechanical ADDA Certified Drafter in 2008.
She has been employed with Lord Corporation since February of 2012. Prior to this position she was employed over seven years with Thomas Freeman Architects in Erie Pennsylvania as a Design Studio Manager. He major design projects have included the merger of two large manufacturing companies into one dual purpose facility, renovation and expansion of multi-family housing projects on multiple sites throughout Erie and conversion of existing structures into new office facilities.
Her supervisor stated, since joining Lord she has played a significant role in supporting a one-hundred million dollar project. He knowledge and experience have allowed her to champion a large variety of task including drawing development, code research and other expanding roles and have made her a valuable resource for the company. Her mentorship of a new hire was exceptional and was proof of her ability to serve in a leadership role and continually proves her value which supports the fact she will be an asset for years to come.
Heather also devotes time to the community through multiple charities. He primary focuses are for the National Alliance for Mental Illness and the Autism Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania.
Heather is a prime example of professional development through being involved in organizations and associations throughout the educational process. Her exposure to ADDA began with her post-secondary education almost 14 years ago and continues to provide a foundation to reach other goals and skills.
